What does the CUYLM Executive Committee do?
Learn about the committee here.
What is the time commitment required to serve on the committee?
On an average, 3-4 hours per month. In addition, the committee meets in person twice a year, on average for 2 days each. Notice is provided when full-day meetings are required.
What does the committee look like? What does it mean to be on the committee?
The committee is comprised of up to 14 young leaders from across Manitoba Credit Unions. The committee has a Chair, a Vice-Chair and 3 sub-committees:
Awareness sub-committee – delivers the annual Mentorship Program, Emerging Leaders’ Summit, and more.
Engagement sub-committee – Communicates to the system and beyond about CUYLM’s initiatives.
Activities sub-committee – Plans and delivers events, including the biennial conference, think tanks, webinars, and more.
In addition to the above, the sub-committees may come up with new initiatives each year during our annual strategic planning session in January. Committee members contribute to the development of our annual plan, which is then executed throughout the year.
The committee also organizes and participates in a learning day every year.
Why is manager approval needed to apply for the committee?
It is required so that your manager, as well as your credit union, acknowledges and approves of your participation and time contributed toward CUYLM.
My manager is currently on vacation, can I still apply?
Yes, but manager approval will be needed if you are selected to serve on the committee.
What does the selection process look like? Will there be an interview?
Selection for the CUYLM Executive Committee is based on applications submitted via our application form, followed by interviews with shortlisted candidates.
